your monthly reset (vol 4): on feeling lost and finding your way back
media recs for slowing down, tuning in, and resetting softly

Opening Note
As May draws to a close, I find myself reflecting not only on how quickly this year has passed, but also on how swiftly my twenties seem to be slipping by. If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll know I’ve consciously slowed my pace in recent years—partly due to burnout from work, and partly from creative ruts that come with trying to balance a deep passion for content creation and photography alongside a full-time corporate role in social media and marketing.
In just a few months, I’ll be turning 26. That number feels like a gentle nudge toward my late twenties—a phase I once imagined would be marked by certainty and stability.
Own a house? Not yet.
In a steady relationship? I’ve been single for over a decade.
Settled and rooted somewhere? Still drifting.
In love with my job? Do any of us really feel that way?
So, I find myself sitting in the park, wondering: What’s next? What should I be doing? What do I truly want?
And honestly?
I’m not sure.
But here’s what I do know, and what I’m learning to hold onto with quiet reverence: the small, beautiful moments—those fleeting, ordinary things that so often pass us by unnoticed, yet one day we’ll look back on with longing. A simple text from someone who cares, asking, “Did you get home okay?” The unspoken love behind my dad cooking my favourite meal when he knows I’ve had a hard day. Stepping outside for a walk and realising the light has shifted slightly, the air smells different, the leaves are beginning to turn—a gentle reminder that time is moving, even when we feel stuck.
These little things don’t shout for attention, but they root me. They offer stillness in the chaos, meaning in the mundane. And I’ve come to believe that if there’s any kind of magic in this life, it’s found in those unremarkable moments we often overlook—the ones that, in hindsight, meant everything.
This week’s monthly reset is a gentle one. I’m sharing a list of media I’ve enjoyed—stories that subtly prompt us to reflect on the world around us. And as always, you’ll find a few thoughtful resources I hope will spark inspiration or introspection, wherever you’re at right now.
