Can’t afford a house? Check.
Feel like you’re falling behind in life? Check.
Overwhelmed by the constant wave of bad news? Check.
Unsure of what you’re doing with your life? Check.
Struggling with imposter syndrome at work? Double-check.

If you nodded along to any (or all) of those, I want you to know—you’re definitely not the only one.

Your twenties are already a decade of uncertainty, trial-and-error, and a whole lot of “what am I even doing?” But layered on top of that is the looming cloud of economic instability, rising living costs, and a news cycle that feels like it never lets up. It’s no wonder so many of us feel like we’re floating in a sea of unknowns.

And if you’ve missed the headlines lately, let me catch you up: tensions in global markets, rising interest rates, and political shifts like the Trump administration’s tariff policies have stirred up renewed fears of a recession. People—especially Millennials and Gen Z—are tired. Tired of feeling behind. Tired of chasing stability. Tired of wondering if we’ll ever be able to catch up.

Social media has become both an escape and a mirror. You’ll find memes and jokes (because what else can we do but laugh sometimes?), but also honest reflections—how people are budgeting differently, picking up side gigs, or just admitting that they’re scared too.

With this in mind, this space, this newsletter, isn’t here to offer quick fixes or polished finance advice. I’m not a guru. But I am someone figuring it out alongside you. And I hope what I share here feels less like noise and more like a warm cup of clarity—a little honest insight into how I’m personally preparing for the unknowns ahead. In this newsletter, I’m hoping to offer some helpful and honest insights into how I’m preparing for a recession.

If you missed out, here are a few of my popular posts from my deinfluencing series about navigating my twenties:

  • Things I didn’t to loathe in my mid-twenties

  • Things I don’t regret buying in my twenties

  • Non-negotiable habits I’m bringing into this year

  • media to consume if you're feeling lost in your twenties

The rest of this post is for paid subscribers, and here’s what you can expect:

  • Actionable tips on how I’m saving money in a recession

  • List of monetary and non-monetary things to prepare for a recession

  • Media you need to know about preparing for and/or navigating a recession

  • Access to the full archive of past paid-wall posts and newsletters.

It’s $7 for the month (the price of a cup of coffee), but the knowledge you might learn might change your career, productivity and life in between for the better - just like it did for me!
